7 Thoughtful Ways to keep your child away from Materialistic World 

The above seems difficult though with the kind of amenities and comforts today’s parents are racing for to provide their child. Ironically, many children raised in wealth demonstrate the same tendencies as those who are raised in extreme poverty: depression, despair, attempted suicide, drug and alcohol use, and shoplifting.

Parents , who remain busy in their jobs, profession, or in the race of making money, eventually to provide the best life to their kids and family need to sit back and think .Are their kids really progressing the way they must, mentally physically, emotionally?

Why after so much of comforts today’s toddlers have maximum behavioral, tantrums, eating habits, accommodating, emotional and many other kind of issues ?? Think over it.

We assume we are making their life easy and comfortable but it’s not the truth.

The key is to make your child or to raise your child without addiction to the materialistic world so that they can survive in the worst situations in future. Let’s have a look at few quick tips on How to implement the same?

1.           Practice What You Preach

Your child will not just blindly believe on what all you say. Today’s generation learns only after they observe or experience.  You scream, your behavior in public, your showoff to your friends and relatives, your self praising, you’re always wanting the best and many such smallest instances effects your child’s future tendencies. If you love to buy cars and splurge money to impress others you can never expect your child to be down to earth and not desire anything less than best.

  1. Spending time with your toddlers

Its   a very old and most common saying, “Your Present can’t replace your presence”.  A truthful saying , the more you spend time with your little ones in playing , running, walking storytelling , sharing , the less your child will be attracted or feel need of a materialistic things .

  1. Budgeted spending

Always believe and practice in budgeted spending, shopping, buying even though when you know you can do more. Seeing you spending within a limit always is a great lesson for your child in future. Teach everything must be planned and in limit. Money gets exhausted and does not come from a non stop source.

  1. Believe and practice saving:

Connecting it from the above budgeted spending; you must give and explain reasons to your child of being budgeted all the time. Its is basically to save for the bad times and scarcity. If we splurge all, what we do when we have bad times?? Practice and your toddler will never forget this golden rule and end up living a smooth life always without stress.

  1. Feel the Scarcity / Value of Things:

Once in 6 months take your toddler to a tour of city or places where there are needy children, poverty, old age home, and disabled people just to make them realize and feel how lucky they are to be living a hassle free comfortable life. This simply means valuing things you have and preserving them and be ready to be able to live without them if required. This will train them to survive in scarcity without getting depressed.

  1. Helping the needy:

Save and spend a little amount on the needy people. Your this practice will make your little one learn to understand the scarcity, empathize and save or share with those who are needy if we are capable and god had given us that privilege

  1. Nothing is forever except your conduct:

Explain your child during normal talks and conversation that all the materialistic things end up and get dumped one day, nothing lasts forever except your own behavior and conduct. Things you carry or have can be snatched, destroyed but what you carry within you will always remain with you wherever you go and no one can ever snatch it from you. Hence pay attention on improving yourself from within and be a better person.
